pacing joyfully
on the phone
back
and forth

some mink
accosting passersby
hopped up
jabbering about
some bullshit
no doubt

a constantly yapping dog
tied up outside the shop.
i swear it's always
the same
one

an old boy
dressed up to the
nines
shuffling along 
with his wee bag

the romanian beggar
she's been camped out
for months now
sometimes she has a 
santa hat

a construction worker
pulling on a
tab
looking glum
yearning
for a greggs

all of these people
are still here
doing their thing
and i love them
all

i put on my glasses
specially
when i do the dishes
so i can see them
clearly

just in case
the mink kicks off
or someone
breaks
the two metre rule
and decorum
breaks
down
